Standing Frames

Clients often come to us straight from Children’s settings, School, or College and may have standing frames with them. We welcome these and will work with clients and physiotherapists to create a standing frame program that promotes the benefits of the standing frame for the individual.

We welcome these and will work with clients and physiotherapists to create a standing frame program that promotes the benefits of the standing frame for the individual. Some of these benefits may be to Improve range of motion (spine, hips, knees and ankles), Preventing of contractures (ankles, knees, and hips), Reducing spasticity, Preventing or reversing of osteoporosis and resultant hypercalciuria, improving renal function, draining the urinary tract. Others may include, preventing pressure ulcers through changing positions, Improved circulation as it related to orthostatic hypotension, Improved bowel function. These are a few of the benefits of using a standing frame. Our staff understand the importance of using the standing frame and encouraging and improving self- image for our clients as well as enhancing social development and interactions with peers.
